The Foot and The Shoe.

Foot: Oh, I’m really sorry.
Shoe: For what?
Foot: I am always riding on you.
Don’t you feel the pain as you ware out for taking pain on my behalf?
Shoe: No, never mind. Likewise I won’t wish to see you step on the rough and filthy floors and soils on your soft skin besides that’s why I was made, isn’t it? That’s what friends are for anyway.
Foot: That’s true but believe you me, I have seen many give up the ghost under my weight for taking the saddle on my behalf. I am very sorry that you will eventually join the long list.
Shoe: Everyone has a battle to surmount, and this is mine. I wish you would know how much pain I underwent to become what I am. I was initially what I don’t know, then I was turned to something I heard them call ‘rubber’. After that I was painfully mutilated under high temperatures using sharp knifes before being taken to a section full of ‘thorn-like’ piercing things I later learned to be known as needles where I had my upper cloth-made part added.
Foot: It’s quite a painful story. You really are a fighter.
Shoe: Not really. I wasn’t initially that good of a fighter but the situations made me a fighter as I had no option rather than be strong and endure it all.
Foot: That’s a great lesson learnt to me. I must be strong to endure what comes my way. Our success is sometimes dictated by the way we face the challenges that come our way.
Shoe: I told you this so that you won’t give up after I’m gone. As you might have noticed, I have been the only pair for the last two months and I have a feeling that after I die, I wight me be replaced immediately. You will be on your own . You should not be scared but rather be strong. I promise you, you will be pierced by thorns, land on stinking grounds, get dirty, just to mention just but a few tribulations you will definitely undergo. The best thing though is, you will withstand all.
Foot: [Sobbing] Thanks my friend. But why are you telling me all this?
Shoe: I did this because I Love you so much and it is my pleasure and my greatest wish to serve and protect you. You are like my child. I would wish to stick by you forever. In fact should it not have been my desire to protect you, I would otherwise have given up and I would be long gone. My love for you kept me going.
Foot: I love you too. [Embracing the shoe.]
Moral of the story.
We should always take pleasure in serving others and if we happen to be the recipient of good deeds by others, we should be appreciative and acknowledge their help and efforts to make our lives worth living.
Secondly, we should face our challenges boldly as in most cases, how we face our challenges determines what direction our future takes.
