An Empire State of Mind, Unmatched Achievements.

‘Inaction is the greatest addiction’ - Abduba Mollu Ido, The MD PRASOL Consult in Westlands, Nairobi. Everyone is a dreamer and most of us dream big, in fact could everyone share out their dreams, some of us could run mad. The only tricky part is fulfilling or making these dreams a reality. Wise men saw this, deriving one of their sayings; if wishes were horses beggars would ride.

Over the time I’ve come to realize that there are a couple factors that hinder us from achieving our dreams. One is focusing on how hard it is- the impossibilities or the hardships that are there before we can succeed. This grounds us so much that we start thinking of alternative by-means. Consider in job searches for instance, we are so intoxicated with the ‘connections’ thing- the ‘who do I know by-pass syndrome’. Virtually somebody feels they can’t simply secure a job by producing certificates. A ‘booster’ is necessary.
Secondly, we tend to assume that everything should be straight forward, easy and ready for scoop! Come on. Didn’t you hear of the ancient adage that nothing good comes on a silver platter? – High time we styled up. In any event one ventures in pursuit of their dreams and come across hurdles; they soon sprint out and literally kill the entire mission. What most don’t know is that the pleasure of achieving is in the struggle. Besides, even predators in the jungle know that the pleasure of a kill is in the chase. Flex your muscles.
It’s even better those people who give up at least after some attempt. Others sit down only to be speaking of what they want to do and worse of all some can even give you very sound plans, blueprint and means on how to achieve whatever it is they want. The problem with them is, they live to talk and plan of journeys they never go! – never make a move. It is said that in order to taste the deep waters, one should be prepared to first leave the shores for them. A talk is useless – without action, talk is like broad daylight dream.
Another killer mistake we make is using obsolete approaches and techniques. Apart from failing to trust oneself, the use of wrong techniques is yet another predisposing factor. Some people trust themselves, plan and move ahead to execute but miserably miscalculate their techniques only to land on disappointments not because they were not able but because they used the right means on the wrong venture. It is good to taste the validity of our methodologies before we put them into test. Drawing something on paper is very easy but putting it in practice is a bit tricky and testing.
Those are some of the things that stand between us and our otherwise incredible dreams. They are numerous and saying that I’ve exhausted them would be a blatant lie. Nevertheless am certain beyond doubt that you have an idea of how to better try and achieve your life-long dream(s) and aspiration(s). From me is; All the best and good luck in your endeavors.
